It does not necessarily reflect the view of The Herald. A FLINTSHIRE bus driver has spoken about a simple act of kindness that saw thousands of people praise him for on social media. David Griffin was driving the Arriva number 4 Chester-Mold bus last week near Buckley when he was approached by a child asking when it would arrive in Saltney. It quickly became apparent that the youngster had boarded the wrong bus and was heading away from his intended destination. Sharing the story on social media, a passenger said: "You could see the moment he realised, his eyes started filling up and my heart honestly broke for him. "

However, David the driver's response immediately put the youngster at ease. David, aged 53, reassured the boy, told him not to worry and explained that they would soon pass another No. 4 service travelling in the opposite direction. When the two buses met, the driver flashed his lights and sounded his horn to attract the attention of the other driver before stopping the vehicle. He then got off the bus and personally escorted the boy across the road before speaking to the driver of the oncoming service and explaining the situation. The youngster was then helped onto the correct bus so he could continue his journey home. The Leader caught up with David to discuss the heart-warming incident. He said: “About four years ago, outside the Argoed High School, there was similar sort of thing, but the lad was a bit older.
